any of you gong to casinos other than las vegas?

AC - twice a year

Mohegan Sun - 3x a year; sometimes done as a day trip

Yonkers - monthly; mostly for the cheap entertainment, free tribute bands in the lounge and $5 comedy shows
HMM, even tho we live relatively close to AC(5 hrs) and Chareles Town(1 half hrs.) we never go to any places to gamble, no particular reason, we keep saying we're gonna go to CT but we haven't yet. It is somewhat ironic as I love to gamble, if someone breaks out a deck of cards and some green, I'm all over it. In 22 yrs lived in No Va only been to AC 3 or 4 times, pretty sad huh? I guess AC just doesn't appeal to me like vagas does, plus I've NEVER won in AC, and I mean I've never won anything. Once I was doing OK at a BJ table, had just about doubled and I was going to quit, hit a cold streak and it went quick, dealer won like 13-15 hands straight. That was my last time in AC.

Also, thinking about it, I've never recieved any offers from them at all, strange.

My feeling is that AC is like the Arena football league and Vegas is the NFL

Not in nearby Cleveland. You pay $35 to park or else ride the Rapid in. Place has been packed, meaning BJ has full tables and high limits. VP is abysmal. Slot payouts match this month's weather, both averaging in the upper 80's.

Might visit Soaring Eagle in the fall. Nice hotel, decent VP, tolerable BJ. Long drive.

Little miss info here.

Horseshoe Cleveland is what it is.. Not a local flea joint, but not Caesars Palace either.

Parking isnt 35, its 25.. Free if you earn 15 reward credits.. 150 coin in for VP, or 75 for slots. Or 30 mins at

a table game. Which if you ask the pit boss they will rate you back for 30 mins if you were waiting around

to sit at a table. Free valet is offered for platinum players ( middle tier). The shoe is in the middle of

downtown without the some kind of validation process every worker would park there for free and then

we would hear Bard bitch there isnt any casino player parking.

Table limits in the first days went from 50-100... Now that shine has wore off you can find 10-15 dollar

tables 24/7 on the first floor. Second floor mostly 25..

Cant speak for slots, because I dont play them! Who would or should...

Overall Its helping Cleveland.. Lord knows the city needs all the help it can get!

Free air and hotel even for a low roller like me
just over an hour from Clearwater/St Petersburg Airport

Considering airfare to Las Vegas from Tampa and the 3.5 - 4 hour plane trip it gets me by until my next Vegas trip.

BTW great drink service and good Black Jack conditions. Did very well on the DD last trip.
My regular casinos are Rhythm City in Davenport, Iowa and Jumer's in Rock Island, Illinois. Good video poker at both places on a regular basis.

Went to Cripple Creek in Colorado at the end of last month. Saw decent vp at various casinos. Finally found a +ev opportunity at Gold Creek Casino. Hit a 4K early on and cashed out a $6.00 profit (plus $.60 in cashback).

Haven't been to Las Vegas for 2-3 years.
Hey River Rat~

I go to Atlantic City and also Harraha's Phila. But nothing like a trip to Vegas two times a year
I'm in beautiful downtown Broward - Miami Dade Counties, Florida.

With the Seminole Tribes 3 casinos (with table games), and numerous "racino's" which also have electronic table games (some with live dealers!) and thousands of machines, getting a "fix" is easy, although, IMHO, somewhat more expensive than a degenerate trip to Vegas.

Paytables on VP are poor, real poor, and several points less (or more) than Nevada. Slots too. And live poker is far more expensive, and game choices far more limited.

But air fare today is $340 RT on Spirit, R/T plus baggage fees, etc.

So visiting my local casino's, for me, is more economical and comfortable than the travel, strange beds, hassles, etc, and I am willing to pay the vigorish.

The only good thing about our local poker rooms is they constantly battle with some pretty good poker promotions, and for players like myself will provide significant "bonus" money each month which should overcome the higher cost of play. June I gained $1300 in promotions, July was $1310 + a $250 tourney entry I'll play (or sell) next week. My win-lose results are not included.

I play up to 160 hours per month to "earn" a "big" promo of $750 on a prepaid VISA card. If 80 hours, $250, 120 hours earns $500. Since I can & do "beat the rake", it's now become a job for me. Oh, and that's only at one room. Others have some good "spots" also that are profitable.

I do not anticipate a Vegas trip in my near future.

AC every 5-6 weeks. Vegas in Nov/Dec.
I visit a casino here in Oklahoma on an average of 3 times a week. Sometimes more, Sometimes less. I've gave up on Vegas. The free offers and promotions have dried up. I get free meals here with Free Play and promotions. I know many of you are adamant against playing in Indian casinos because of the ante's on the table games and the poor pay tables on the VP. A person can find a casino without an ante on the table games, many push the ante to be more competetive. Unlike Vegas, I've yet to see a 6:5 BJ here. No, it's not Vegas. It's close though with the 115 degree temps we've been having this summer.
