Are you a big tipper?

I really struggle with this issue. I tip a waitress between 10% and 18% based on service (and cuteness). Its the people like the guy who details my car and charges me $100 and expects a tip that I struggle with. We all know "everyone" in Las Vegas has there hand out, so the question is who and when more than how much to tip!

You tip based partially on cuteness? Good thing you aren't paid based on cuteness.

I don't either. I don't work for tips.
L. McCoy is a jerk and they said he was being a jerk the whole time, if I tip 20 percent he should tip 50-100 percent, if I had the money he did I would, on my mothers grave!!!!! He also said that 20 cents should go towards buying my jersey, or something like that. Again what a tool!!! Treat someone like they are a god, they will act like a god.

Mikey, I think if you treat someone like a God, invariably, they’ll act like an ass.

By the way, interesting conversation here about tipping based on looks . . . got me to thinking. I’m quite certain that I wouldn’t have gone very far in life if my income had ever been based upon looks alone. Thankfully, I had a supportive wife who said I shouldn’t worry about it because looks weren’t the only thing holding me back.

1st of all, I did NOT say I tipped based solely on looks, I said if a waitress does a good job and gets a respectable 10% to 15% for doing a good job for me and I then tack on a few extra % because she's cute, bubbly, and calls me hunny.......so be it. Its my money!
I guess you can also derive from my original comment that if you work your ass off serving me dinner and your a male or a butt fucking ugly babe, and/or you have a Liondownnow attitude you are just getting the normal 10% to 15% if you wish....it's pretty much true.
BTW..... I also pass by regular blackjack dealers or male dealers to get to the tables with the hot female dealer /dancers at the Golden Gate casino......again, its my money and if I am going to sit at a table and lose money, I might as well be losing it to a cute one!

"A Liondownnow attitude"...

Love it..
In most places, the server has to tip the bartender and bus person out of his/her tips. So that is something to consider when you get really good service.

On a $10 meal, I'll tip about $3. At a $100 plus per plate restaurant, I pay a maximum of 15%. I will tip less for poor service, but that is very uncommon. This weekend, 13 of us are going to an expensive joint prior to Notre Dame's dismantling of my beloved Purdue Boilermakers (St Elmo's Steakhouse). I'm guessing that our bill will be $1400 before the tip, and a 15% tip ($195) is more than plenty in my book.

I tip a much higher % on a cheap meal than at an expensive restaurant. It's usually a $5 tip if the bill is from $20 up to $30.
Charlie Sheen has come out today and said he will give $1,000 to the waiter.

A friend of a friend owns a sandwich shop here in Tampa. Eric Rhett who played for the Bucs used to frequent this sandwich shop.

The owner is a huge Gators fan and the first time Eric came in the owner comped him his lunch. Well the next time Eric comes in with three other friends and the owner comped him again. He says he did it because he could tell Eric expected it.

The third time Eric comes in with five other friends and the owner tactfully made it clear that he would have to pay. Eric gets all rude and obnoxious and the owner finally said, look your signing bonus is more than this shop will clear in five years.

Needless to say Eric never went back.

One of the rudest guys ever to step foot in Tampa is Warren Sapp. He was amazingly rude but one thing really stands out in my mind. He used to park in the handicap spot at a certain restaurant on a regular basis.

This isn't hearsay this I saw with my own eyes.

One of the best tippers I heard was Shaq. He would sometimes tip more than the price of his meal.
