Are you a big tipper?

I never liked the guy. Crude and rude.

The owner is a huge Gators fan and the first time Eric came in the owner comped him his lunch. Well the next time Eric comes in with three other friends and the owner comped him again. He says he did it because he could tell Eric expected it.

The third time Eric comes in with five other friends and the owner tactfully made it clear that he would have to pay. Eric gets all rude and obnoxious and the owner finally said, look your signing bonus is more than this shop will clear in five years.

Needless to say Eric never went back.

One of the rudest guys ever to step foot in Tampa is Warren Sapp. He was amazingly rude but one thing really stands out in my mind. He used to park in the handicap spot at a certain restaurant on a regular basis.

This isn't hearsay this I saw with my own eyes.

I was at a restaurant/bar in the LA area when Shaq was playing for the Lakers many years ago. They said he treated the folks very nicely......with courtesy and with tips.

One of the best tippers I heard was Shaq. He would sometimes tip more than the price of his meal.

Phil Mickelson tosses some very strong tips around.

Tiger doesn't.

I heard Shaq on TV tell a story about his father (I believe it was really his stepfather but Shaq considered him his real dad) anyway his father told him son, be nice to everyone because those that you pass on the way up are the same ones you will pass on the way down.

Good advice from a good father.

Johnny Depp came to Oshkosh and tipped really well, I think over 100% and he racked up a big bill. Really nice to the people of Oshkosh period!!!!!

Depp filmed a part of "Public Enemies" near where I live. From all accounts, very nice to the fans hanging around the set, and signed autographs and posed for pics for anybody who asked for his time.

Now for a moody ass: Jay Cutler frequents a restaurant 8 blocks from where I live. From many accounts, is extremely rude to fans and has been known to flip the bird to anyone who asks for an autograph....be it male or female.

That being said, he is also known as a very generous tipper to the wait staff at that restaurant. Go figure.

I tip a LOT at the tables,when I'm winning.
Food tipping? 10-20%.
Cocktails...Always.
I have a number of friends who own restaurants and they all agree the country music stars here in Nashville are very good tippers (heck, most of them waited tables at one time).
As long as the service is good--attentive, drinks replenished, etc,--we usually tip 18-20%. We don't quibble if its a few cents over. Higher end meals are no different. Usually the server is very good and deserves the standard tip.

We do tip less at a buffet, again depending if the server checks on us and removes plates fairlt promptly

I can say that we have never "stiffed" any server, but have left 10-15%.
