Ben Affleck Banned From Hard Rock

What about adjustment for deck penetration and ace count, etc.. If card counting was as easy as you make it out to be there would be far many more counters. By the way, one can play and count perfectly and still have huge swings in earnings and losses.

Dude, when I wrote "What is probably beyond all of us is the ability to do so without being detected," did you think I was making it sound EASY? Because what I meant was that making actual money at blackjack is damn near impossible.

Counting cards well enough to get booted, however, is easy. Trust me; I'm an expert at that.

Incidentally, Olaf Vacura's Knock-Out count (published by HP) requires neither an ace nor deck penetration adjustment, and in simulations scores .0004 better than Uston's old count, and only .0004 worse than Omega II for eight decks.
Dude, you must be really cool..............dude.

My experience with card counting was two things

At the level I play at it was more work than it was worth.

I did not have the capital to handle the huge swings.

I could count and count well. The problem was that pita stop card. I was on a shoe that was so rich in tens and aces that I had increased my bet well above where I was comfortable. I kept increasing and I kept losing and the count kept getting more favorable. I just knew I had to start winning and I would get it all back in a couple of hands. Keep in mind this was in the early 1980's at the Aladdin. Finally the stop card came up and I was screwed and broke. I asked the dealer if he could show me what was behind the stop card and he called over the pit boss. The pit boss obliged me and just about every card left was a 10 or an Ace. I guess they didn't put any heat on me because they could tell I was a wet behind the ears tourist who had no business doing what I was doing.

That is the problem with counting cards everyone thinks you win every time. But you only get a few percent in your favor a small percent of the time. And even if you have the odds in your favor does not mean you win. With almost all the cards tens you would have a lot of 20-20 ties if you did not get 20 and had to hit it is almost a sure bust not sure you would have got your money back. It is like people will tell you that a dealer will bust 90% of the time with a 6 showing. No it is only 45%.

The dealer always seams to have a 5 or a 4 card with that 6 showing. Of course they then draw the 10 card.

It feels like only 25% when the dealer has 16 against me. 75% of the time they seem to pull a 4 or 5. I'm sure it's not really that bad but it sure feels that way.
I think at least 75% of people could count cards if they trained, really it is simple math. The problem is the bankroll you are comfortable with, If I was a billionaire and they let me do 10000 to 1 ratio, I would be like okay you are the dumbest casino I have ever seen, a third grader would know that. I doubt anyone would get away with a 10 to 1 ratio unless of course you are a movie star! Just to bring people in If I was in charge I would let him get away with 10-1. But 10000 to 1 I would quote Spicoli...."you dick" Also I quit doing it because it is not fun, it is work and I go to vegas to have fun!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean. It seems like I've always doubled down or split to boot and that f'n 5 will appear. ALWAYS

While I do count cards, I am by no means any good as every time I have played BJ I have lost. Hence I don't play BJ anymore.
