Ben Affleck Banned From Hard Rock

I still wonder if there isn't more to this, like a means to publicize Ben and the Hard Rock.

I also wonder if Ben had a celebrity type hissy fit, when the casino disallowed his bet?

I would have never thought Ben was capable of counting cards in any capacity.

My record is keeping count is about 20 minutes. It's hard to count as fast as they deal in the casino. And just because you're counting doesn't mean you'll encounter a favorable count.

How do you figure? The guy co-wrote Good Will Hunting, was able to pitch and sell it to a major studio when he was pretty much a nobody, and directed the very successful Argo. Seems like a pretty capable guy to me.

It is very hard when you keep to a 3 to 1 ratio, it is very easy when you use a 1000 to one ratio. To me it is like sitting there with someone and asking the cocktail waitress for 3rd drink, she would be like sure I will let you get away with a 3rd drink. Where Ben Affsack would have the balls to ask for 1000 drinks. Good Morning America reported it as the Hard Rock saying you are just too good! Please, just ask the pit boss next time you go to Vegas what he would do if you bet 10, 20 times in a row and then bet $10000. He would say, how dare you insult me! ba-bye. Not u r so good, it is hard to explain but Ben Affsack was taking advantage of is celeb status.

Really? A good writer doesn't necessarily make a good person with numbers. I'm really surprised you made such a statement like that.

The math necessary to count cards is beyond trivial; it involves integer addition and subtraction - usually by ones - estimating the decks left in the shoe, and a little division. And if you use Vancura's count, you don't even need the estimating or the division. It's simpler than the first week of high school algebra.

Any reasonably intelligent person can learn to count cards - me, you, or Ben Affleck for that matter. What is probably beyond all of us is the ability to do so without being detected.
Forkie apparently doesn't know that Ben Affleck is a political conservative.

I agree with Forkie!

Most people cannot successfully count cards. By the way let's go back to your totally absurd assertion that because some one was able to write a script that they should be an easy candidate for being a good card counter. I have an uncle who is a professor of history at Brown University. He has written books and papers and is very highly regarded in his field. The guy has no common sense (kind of like Sheldon on The Big Bang) and has below average math skills. Your premise I will state again is full of shit.

If by "successfully" you mean profitably and undetected, well that's what I said, so let's agree to agree.

Of course Ben Affleck wasn't successful, was he?

Can you memorize basic strategy, and then add 1 every time you see a low card, subtract 1 every time you see a high card, and vary your bet accordingly? Congrats, you're a card counter, probably on the same level as Mr. Affleck. Not that you can make any money at it.
