Just shut up for a while- you might actually enjoy the peace and quiet. I know that those who are forced to sit next to you will appreciate your silence.
You're the whiner. You're the one that wants to prevent people from communicating. Liberal? Less regulation is Liberal? Who'd of thunk it? Well, I guess in the classic definition of Liberty it is, but not in the current vernacular.
I guess drmilled's support of smaller government and fewer regulations only extends to things he personally likes or dislikes. I call that hypocritical. If you're looking for 'peace and quiet' maybe you should just stay home or learn to deal with it....but not by restricting other'choices. I suggested a reasonable compromise of separate sections for Talkers and Non Talkers, but that idea is ignored in favor whining and crying. What irony.
So would the good dr support banning cell phones on Busses? On Trains? Restaurants? Where does it end? The Mall? The sidewalk? My car (as a passenger)? My house? It's a slippery slope. You should know that.
alan- - - As I said, if the liberal does not get his way he whines and cries. Just because YOU want something does not mean everyone else does. Prior to cell phones, this was not an issue. Now that you have a cell phone you want everyone to accept YOUR new right to use your cell phone where ever and when ever you want, everyone else be dammed. As for your liberal method of bringing other, non flying modes of transportation into the discussion, let me remind you we are talking about cell phone use on airplanes. Just as I do not buy an airline ticket with the expectation of sitting next to a possibly overly large person, or an unwashed person, or a crying kid,or a drunk- I certainly do not expect to be stuck sitting next to a cell phone user whose talking is bothersome. As for purchasing ear plugs goes, why can't you turn off your phone for the duration of a flight? You are right about one thing about me, I enjoy the peace and quiet I have experienced for years while flying. You and your ilk seem to care less how your demands affect others. If you don't like the cell phone ban, then YOU can take another form of transportation. Then you can talk all you want and both of us will be happy.
