DonDiego's response to the original question was that he'd like to see lots of things go unfunded.
It is not a question of who's "more important" to DonDiego. That's twaddle. It's a question of what functions the Government should be performing to begin with. DonDiego would prefer some entire Cabinet Departments were unfunded; he knows this is highly unlikely.
In fact it was not poor old DonDiego who singled anybody out.
But citizens, some on this very forum, observing the effects of the shutdown have been arguing that certain folks are being inconvenienced. No mention of their "importance".
And the Democrats are not being asked "who's more important?"
They are being provided pieces of legislation on which they may choose to authorize funding, f'rinstance: i. kids with cancer, ii. National Parks facilities, and iii. National Guard and Reserves training, . . . or not. They or the Democrat Leadership have chosen not to provide such funds.
