I had a delightful conversation with a health Insurance company rep this morning

It helps to use current numbers

From The Weekly Standard

Remember back when the Democrats tried to sell Obamacare to a skeptical citizenry as health care “reform” that would cost “only” $848 billion—far less than a trillion—over a decade? Indeed, that was the alleged 10-year gross cost of Obamacare’s coverage provisions, according to the Congressional Budget Office

Well, now the CBO is out with a new report on Obamacare’s costs, and—sure enough—its 10-year price-tag now eclipses $2 trillion. To be more exact, the CBO now projects (see Table B-1) that the 10-year gross cost of Obamacare’s coverage provisions will be a cool $2,004,000,000,000.00.

it also helps if you understand the difference between "cost" and "deficit". No worries.... Most conservatives dont recognize the difference because Republicans rarely pay for the legislation they enact.
Since the US always runs at a defict any additional expenses adds to the deficit. Now that the CBO estimate has more than doubled that additional cost & there isn't any additional revenue to offset that cost it will add to the deifict

Really? The Weekly Standard's link to that "new report" leads to a "Page not found."

Can you blame me for being skeptical? I mean it is the Weekly Standard, and you guys were wrong* about Death Panels! and Insurance Company Bailout! and Unaffordable Rates! and Doctors Quitting! and Very Few Will Enroll! and so on. So I figure you guys have Benghazied this one too.

*But you guys were right about The Website Sucks! - for a brief shining moment.

Actually there is more revenue because the total enrolled figure is over 1.1 million people greater (and counting) than the latest estimate from the CBO.
....and half the country has refused to expand medicaid which is to the benefit of the law's finances (if not to its coverage levels).

But I don't mind Hoops moving the goal posts for the 100th time. Its a good way to measure the law's success.
The original estimate was 7 million & we may have reached that number, so no additional revenue. Until we find out how many people have paid, we won't know how much they are paying in premiums, so it may be lower.

The original CBO estmate was that the 7m were supposed to be all uninsured; it turns out that there may only be 1m; the rest were people were cancelled.

We also have all the added expense of the website & advertising.

obama as part of his 37 changes has essentially eliminated the penalty by allowing people to declare hardship without any proof of hardship. More lost revenue.

Nope. The original estimate was 7 million for all of 2014, and anyone losing coverage with a qualifying event - such as a job loss, divorce, turning 26 and getting kicked off the parent's policy - can still enroll. Last year millions had such events.

Oh, and below is Weekly Standard's proof of their $2 trillion claim. Rock solid, huh?

Hoops says it helps to use current numbers from the CBO...but then he demands we use previous numbers from the CBO.

The most recent CBO report in February revised the enrollment estimate to 6 million...the same report Hoops got his cost increase from.

Its one thing to move the goal posts. Its something else when you pick different goal posts from different CBO reports.

(AND The CBO Still predicts the law will lower the deficit)
How can it reduce the deficit when the costs go up with no increase in revenue
"Nope. The original estimate was 7 million for all of 2014"

So the govt took their page down

In September 2013, NBC News asked Sebelius what success would look like for Obamacare.“Well, I think success looks like at least seven million people having signed up by the end of March 2014
