I had a delightful conversation with a health Insurance company rep this morning

Bloomberg also has obama's approval/disapproval at even, while most other polls has his disapproval at -10 or more, so one has to question their methodology

Can you name one single issue with Obamacare that your physician had? I mean just ONE.

teechur provided this information in her earlier testimony.

Our doctor of 5 years, closed his practice (and I got this directly from his nurse/wife) because of 2 reasons: a) Medicare changes on payments to doctors and b) ObamaCare information given their office about the new law & payments. She said they were having a difficult time staying afloat with the Medicare payment changes, but once ObamaCare came in, they were absolutely done.

The doctor's nurse/wife said that he quit his practice BECAUSE of information sent to the office about the upcoming impact of Obamacare. PERIOD.

Allow DonDiego to cite the pertinent information again:

And in case forkushV is still mssing the point, once more:
. . . once ObamaCare came in, they were absolutely DONE.

[n.b.teechur and DonDiego interpreted this notification to mean once Obamacare was instituted, the physician and his nurse/wife judged the medical practice would provide insufficient income to support the lifestyle to which they were accustomed. forkushV may interpret it however he pleases.]

__teechur and DonDiego received notice of the physician closing his practice in the mail.
__teechur went to the the physician's office to discuss prescriptions, records transfer, etc..
__the physician's nurse/wife chatted about why the practice was closing.
__teechur thanked the physician’s nurse/wife for the care teechur and DonDiego had received and expressed sympathy that the practice was being discontinued.
__Neither teechur nor DonDiego initiated an inquisition of the nurse/wife or the physician.
__No one inquired as to what single issue, if any, had led to their conclusion.
__No one accused anyone of lying.
__No one accused anyone of being clueless.
[For the record, teechur and DonDiego share the same family physician. They also patronize the same dentist. But DonDiego drew the line at gynocologist.]

Although forkushV apparently knows more about the physician's practice than the physician already, . . . DonDiego, nonetheless, suggests forkushV start a file on the physician and his nurse/wife, preferably with pictures, numbers, charts, and headlines, to get to the bottom of their obviously dastardly political plot to destroy the reputation of President Obama, . . . and periodically post the results on LVA.
My doctor told me that he had to join the group practice due to obamacare. He doesn't like the situation , one of the reasons is that his sick patients can't get in to see him, as they get pushed into the ctr's urgent care, where they are seen by doctors and nurse practioners who don't pay attention to the file. He then has to correct their errors.

For example last year I was sick and the urgent care doc wanted to put me in the hospital. I refused and we wound up getting my doctor who also said not to put me in the hospital.

Could you be a little more vague. He quit because of "ObamaCare information given their office?" What information? Was it about Death Panels by any chance? Was it written in Kenyan? Did Michelle Obama refer to them as "whitey?"

So let's recap:

  • You guys say your doctor quit because of Obamacare, but you can't cite ONE single solitary reason why.
  • Boilerman can't explain the phony rates his friend Nick came up with to attack Obamacare.
  • The woman cited in the GOP State of the Union response never even applied for Obamacare before attacking.
  • And Ms. Boonstra in the Koch funded ads would save about $1200 a year with Obamacare.

Dishonest, every one of you - except of course for teechur. If she can't come up with just ONE single solitary reason her doctor quit, she's just clueless.

  • People who are wrong on the issues are routinely forced to rely on anecdotes because actual data doesn't support their policies.

It's why Paul Ryan likes to tell fables about a poor kid and his longing for a brown-bag lunch that his imaginary 1950s mom made special for him, hearkening back to some bygone era that never actually existed.
Why anyone with 2 or more functioning brain cells chooses to try and explain the obvious to forkush or chilcoot is beyond me.

ObamaCare Survey: Doctors and Patients Unhappy

    Jan 20, 2014

The public relations campaign that is being waged by both advocates and opponents of the Affordable Care Act (ACA or "ObamaCare") is largely a war of opposing anecdotes, states the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS).

Advocates assert that canceled plans are "substandard," and that while some will pay more, large numbers of Americans will be newly eligible for Medicaid or subsidized plans, AAPS notes.

An online survey by AAPS garnered some 1,400 responses. So far, 219 have had their existing insurance plan canceled. Only 121 reported trying to sign up for ObamaCare, and only 27 were successful. Of these, only 13 were sure that payment to the insurer had been made, and only eight had received a welcome packet.

More than 140 respondents submitted comments about the cancellation of their insurance plan, and these were overwhelmingly negative. Complaints included short notice, much higher premiums and out-of-pocket cost, limited access to physicians, and requirement for coverage such as pediatric eyewear that would never be used.

For example: "My high-deductible health plan was canceled, and now I face paying two to three times the premium I was paying before for coverage I don't need and don't want. The deductible for out-of-network physicians was also doubled to $10,000! …I assume most of the risk, and the insurer collects two to three times what they were collecting before on a policy Obama told us I could keep if I liked it."

One commenter, who earns "just a little too much to qualify for the subsidy," wrote that "quotes I have received are 75% to 100% in excess of what I am currently paying for similar coverage."

Nearly 600 people volunteered other comments, also overwhelmingly negative. Some complained of the exactly the problems the ACA was claimed to solve: "If I get sick [under my ACA-compliant plan], I am bankrupt." Some claim they will no longer be able to get the treatment they need, and "the illness will run its course."

"While some Americans will pay less because of taxpayer-funded subsidies, many will pay much more for coverage that they think is inferior to what they had before," stated AAPS executive director Jane M. Orient, M.D. "And there is the fear that people can no longer rely on the availability of good treatment

Thank you for telling us what the ultra-conservative Association of American Physicians and Surgeons found when they surveyed people who were visiting their website. I can see little has changed since their board was packed with members of the John Birch Society: Today's AAPS board includes prominent right-wing acists Ron Paul and John Cooksey.I'm guessing motownbob was hoping Google was broken today and that we wouldn't realize he was trying to pull a fast one here.

I wonder what people are saying about Sarah Palin today on her Facebook page? Maybe we could tabulate their responses, which surely range from "she's completely great" to "she is really completely great".

Not really a substitute for a scientific poll, but I suppose in his way we've been given yet another data point for assessing the loony right.
Not trying to pull a "fast one " ... what is reported in the article is factual . How do I know ? Because I have personally experienced much of what is discussed in the article .
I don't know anything about the political leanings of said association. I do know that you can't decide that information is automatically bogus because of a certain affiliation . They may cherry pick the facts they want to present, but facts are facts . Bob
