If we had a LEADER

Democrats already have 100% of the funding for Obamacare.
So, again, what are you offering them they dont already have?

Outside the context of a shutdown I'd be willing to play. Democrats in Washington would have my blessing to delay the unenforcable insurance mandate ....in exchange I want the Federal Minimum wage raised to $10. Deal?
Right now we have a govt stalemate. Both sides have to give something up in order to get the ball rolling
What gets me is the fact that the Rush and Hannity crowd don't realize how ignorant they sound when they throw out the "socialist" word. I mean that old chestnut was useless during the "Joe the wanna be fake plumber days" and it is useless today. You can see how effective it is, Obama was elected twice and now the GOP has tried 40 times to get rid of Obamacare. We had an election, two for that matter and he was elected both times. Obamacare was held up by the Supreme Court. That is it, game over. Start working on a viable GOP candidate for the next election and move on.

All of the Hannity and Rush rhetoric just looks ignorant and mindless outside of the small minority that listens to those two blowhards.

Everybody take a drink whenever Dr. Milled cries and whines the word "Socialist".

Yeah, well Arizona State Representative Brenda Barton posted on her Facebook page the other day, "Someone is paying the National Parks Service thugs overtime to carry out the order of De Fuhrer."

So did her followers distance themselves from her? Scold her? Nope, they applauded her.

Embarrassing.

DRMilled- As I have stated before, Margaret Thatcher, the former British Prime Minister, said "the only thing wrong with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." Seeing as that is what is happening now with your "elected" President as he reshapes the nation and Constitution to advance and adhere to his socialistic viewpoint, I find the comments about Socialism valid. Those of you who paraphrase "game over" apparently think that the running of our nation equates to a game. What is happening now is not a game. This POTUS is forging ahead with his twisted value system and has surrounded himself with like minded individuals who have no cognizant idea as to what they are doing to undermine the foundation of our nation. As time goes on it will become more apparent to those who still can't see that Obama does not have our nation's interest at heart. Expect more of his twisted version of "change you can believe in" to continue. God help us.

I suppose you think the second George Bush had a better handle on the nations finances and the future of our nation. I sure didn't see you speaking out against two unfunded wars, unfunded Medicare benefits and unfunded tax rebates. BTW where are those doggone WMD's we have been looking for.

I respect your right to your opinion but the "socialist" rhetoric just looks stupid and worn out.

Now on the subject of the airlines we totally agree GREED is the word.
Totontow- I don't disagree with your Bush comments- But they really don't address the predicament we are in today or the way are nation is presently being governed. As far as the "socialist" rhetoric looking stupid, just what label would you apply to the direction Obama has taken our nation? You may hate or disagree with my viewpoints- but time will tell all and the reality will become apparent.
I would label him a liberal American trying to do something that should have been done long ago. I still wonder why 12 years of schooling has been available on the taxpayers dime but healthcare has not (for the most part). If you want to label Obama a socialist then you would have to label anyone who ever supported the progressive income tax or any social program from public schools, social security, public parks, Medicare and on and on a socialist. We have had socialism and socialist policy in this country forever. The socialist label has grown old and tired and as stated above it just looks stupid to me. It didn't work it the past and it certainly doesn't work now.

He is our president. He was elected by the people the way our system works. Obamacare was declared legal by a conservative supreme court. I personally think he is sorely lacking in leadership skills and backbone. When the democrats were in control he should have crammed a single payer system down everyone's throat. But instead he tried to make everyone happy and now nobody is happy.

I voted for him in the first election because I felt he was way better than McCain. I still feel that way. I did not vote in the second election because I have grown tired of voting for the lesser of two evils.

I read a good editorial the other day. A local liberal writer was called out by an upset Tea Party member. The writer said they had a very good discussion of politics and they both walked away with a new respect for each other. The writer stated "I’ll give my new friend a lot of credit, though. Just as you can be liberal without being a communist, you can be conservative without wanting to leave the poor and defenseless to fend for themselves."

It is a good read if you want to read it here is the link https://tbo.com/list/columns-jhenderson/henderson-tea-party-supporter-reminds-us-were-all-americans-20131008/

One think for sure Doc I would fight to the death defending your right to have a differing viewpoint and I admire your passion. It is often difficult to stand up and have a different point of view. We both want to wind up in the same place we just want to take a different route. IOW we both love this country dearly.

It is always interesting seeing how different prospective can be. I'd label Obama as centrist that leans slightly to the right or perhaps a corporatist that leans slightly to the right. That is certainly where his polices have been. that is why it seems so bizarre to me that the righties call him a socialist or even a communist. From a logical look at the facts point of view it makes no sense. I'd also agree with Tutontow that he comes up short in the leadership department. It seems to me he always overcompensates because he is trying to avoid being the "angry black man" and wants to be liked.

WOW, I can't believe you think he "overcompensates to avoid being the angry black man" you have got to be kidding. He is the most arrogant leader our country has ever seen. And for his leadership and gaining respect, you just need to check in with the leaders of the other countries in the world. They play him as a school child playing a "man's" game of leading his country.
