Regardless of whether or not the owners can segregate the fee it's a good value at the strat because most people who stay at the Strat want to visit the tower. The resort fee of $7.50 saves a family of 4 $48. Show me a better return on a resort fee. It's the ONLY one that I would gladly pay if staying at the Strat because it would save ME money....and my comment was that I like the way they do it....low fee, big value.

No, NOT WELL SAID. Do you know how EFFIN HARD it is to get newspapers to all the right rooms, AND JUST THE RIGHT ROOMS, every day????? To make sure that some rooms have bottled water, and SOME DON'T???? To make sure some phones have local access and SOME DON'T, and to do that RIGHT every EFFIN DAY??? DO YOU HAVE ANY CONCEPT OF REALITY???
Or do you just like making false statements and then claiming the other person has no point? The Strat can EASILY provide discounted access to the tower for its guests. There is no reason to charge a guest for tower access if that guest doesn't want it, because it's EASY to monitor access to the tower.
You are just regurgitating the same argument about resort fees. The Strat could just say, "Free tower admission for our hotel guests" and increase the room rates by $7.50 a day. Bellagio could say, "Free wifi internet, newspaper and complimentary gym use" and increase their rates by $25 a day. The ease of which these amenities can be segregated is irrelevant.
Since these fees are mandatory, it's just a numbers scam by the hotels. The Strat could just as easily, from a strict numbers perspective, give you free tower admission with your room but add a mandatory $7.50 charge for the TV. At the end of the day, you get the same exact amenities for the same exact price; it's just the lack of an easy to understand single price that people have issues with.
