Don Diego has lots of fun opinions. Just the other day he opined the Obama Administration faked the unemployment numbers prior to the last election. And he provided a knock-out-punch source to back it up too!

Anyone who writes about an individual's premium without mentioning the individual's subsidy is being dishonest.

"Everything got higher," said Slafter, who is still waiting to hear whether they qualify for a premium subsidy.

I was pleased to read today that there's been a "November Surge" in ACA enrollments:

After anemic enrollment in October, states have seen a much faster pace of sign-ups in November.

Here's California:

Oh, and for you old white guy smokers with high-stress jobs, there's hope. A DC man with a $223k annual salary just successfully signed up. While he didn't disclose what plan he found, maybe he chose a high-deductible, bronze-plated BlueCross BlueShield plan with a $372.14 premium that was available to him.

So bravo Rep. John Boehner on getting such a good Obamacare deal!

I can't believe there are 3 people on this message board still defending Obamacare, but keep it coming guys. It's been pure comedy gold so far and the comedy will only get better in the coming months. Thanks for the laughs Valerie Jarrett, Michelle Obama, and Jay Carney(aka forkush, chilcoot, and pjstroh).
2 months in, there are really no surprises. Many policies are being cancelled because they just don't measure up to all the requirements of Obamacare. He made it to look like it's for people with pre-existing conditions, but his main goal has always been to get millions more on free Medicade so they will vote democratic, and to improve on all the handouts given to the poor black urban population, since Obama, after 20 years of listening to the humble rev. Wright and his anti-white/anti-Jew rhetoric, has it embedded into his hidden inner self that WHITE is the root of all evil & problems in the good ol USA.

It's always been obvious who'd be signing up for this fiasco and who wouldn't. Older people and older people with pre-existing conditions, with small income levels, will jump on this. But the young and healthy who were counted on subsidizing the mess just won't be coming along like the good little sheep Obama touted would. I know if I were 30, making $50k, and had no insurance, I'd just keep on using the emergency rooms like the illegals, and pay the fine, I mean TAX.

Predict Obama will end up killing himself over this, with Pelosi & Reid being committed to mental institutions. There can be no other outcome.

(T)esteskefauver still roots against Americans.
Pure hatred, not comedy gold.

Oh come on PJ, can you honestly say with a straight face that he's not postponing enrollment until after the elections for the purpose of helping all the dems who are up for re-election(and scared to death this is going to drag them down)?

Its very possible what you say is correct. politicians do self serving things all the time...example: Chris Christie postponed his reelection date after the election that had Cory Booker on the ballot for US Senate.

But, so what? Peoples opinions on the aca and Chris Christie's leadership do not change based upon the date of the election, do they?

People's opinions of Obamacare changed after they found out the costs of Obamacare policies. Mostly these opinions turned negative.

If the costs of the employer-plans and renewals for 2015 were known before an election, people's opinions might well change before the election. Otherwise they might change after the election. They could change positive or negative, . . . depending on the facts revealed. It could affect election results.

Oh, . . . DonDiego is curious, . . . what is this "aca" to which pjstroh refers?

Ah! So we don't what effect the new law will have on the election...but speculating is always a fun exercise. No foul there.

I just think its interesting how the current criticisms continually contradict the ones that came before them. Conservatives have spent the last 3 months (and even shut down the government) in an attempt to delay the rollout of Obamacare and the mandate. And now Republicans are upset the enrollment date is being delayed.

Hmmmm.......It might be helpful if folks like Don DIego and Jatki gave us their Final Jeopardy Answer on what course they prefer: Delaying Obamacare or Speeding it up.
Anyone who writes about an individual's premium without mentioning the individual's subsidy is being dishonest.

Here are some hard numbers for you to digest.

It turns out that individual health policies currently are bought by about 900,000 Californians: mostly self-employed people or small-business workers who don’t participate in corporate-sponsored plans. Only about a third of those are eligible for low-income subsidies that defray the extra costs of ACA-style policies. The other 590,000 current policyholders are too solidly in the middle class or above to qualify for subsidies, Covered California now says.

Article Here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/georgeanders/2013/11/22/californias-bitter-pill-leaves-66-worse-off-in-aca-rollout/
66% of folks that were already in California's individual market don't qualify for subsides. In at least in the case of California wouldn't it be dishonest to mention subsides when the majority of folks won't qualify them?
