Todays QOD Carrying cash through the airport

Hey, the OP just said he is curious how everyone carries their money to Vegas. He didn't ask which is the best way. It isn't a contest.

I always keep my $1.60 in gambling money in my pocket. The small amount of coins rarely set off any alarms. I'm really slick when it comes to bringing money to Vegas!
I'm a cargo pants person.

The check cashing idea was posted the other day . I wanted to mention that some casinos are now charging. Harrahs' is $4 per check. The D downtown didn't charge but they did give me a check cashing card after running a quick credit check. I was approved at one casino for I think 6,000 and one for 10,000 I laughed because I am not employed , and never keep that much in my checking account. I called Gold Coast and they said I had to do a credit with the cashier.

I am looking for ideas because they removed the Wells Fargo ATM from the carnival court that was free, quick and easy for me. I am uncomfortable with large sums of cash on my person. I think this is more of a female thing , guys seem to be more comfortable carrying bigger sums than women.

Thanks Siswst852. Hey Snidely.... It would have been nice if you mentioned the check cashing charges when you were pimping your casino check cashing services.

Why is everyone so concerned? You do realize you can carry up to $10,000 in cash going over the US /Canadian border. Is there a problem going from state to state ?
I, on the other hand, never have to worry about the "upper" limit.
<sigh>

Unless I'm mistaken, and I often am, the primary concern isn't the amount of cash one carries, but that brief moment at airport security when pockets are emptied and cash may or may not leave one's immediate possession.

Snide and Alan could use a laugh so here goes:

I have never had difficulties cashing a check in any denomination at strip casinos. This does not involve any pre-application and/or fee. You tell the cage how much you want. The staff runs it electronically and your account is instantly debited.

Maybe I will videotape a transaction some time. Lol

That is what I do.
You can watch the cashier pulling up your info and your bank acct. balance.
They will turn the screen for you to see if you ask.

My idea is gaining so much traction that those bastards at Harrah's are making a profit on it. And I'm not getting my fair cut for coming up with the idea.

Well I blame friedmush for that.
