underage gambler?

Years ago when I was 15, my mother gave me a bag of nickles at the Sahara and told me to go have fun. The major complication was that every jackpot over a few nickles included a special "hand-pay" of a pair of pantyhose, at which point I'd have to scoop up my nickles and flee to avoid detection. But when they told me to stop playing, I did - for a while.

Today that would be a lot more serious, because casino employees can be fired for it. I'm pretty sure jatki and I, and probably some others here, have more awareness of that now, thanks to this thread. It's a vastly different environment, and it would be dead wrong today.

But those of you who want to dump on jatki on the basis of legal and illegal and right and wrong: Have you ever had a combined winning year, but failed to pay taxes on it because there were no individual jackpots requiring W2-Gs or 1099s? Then you committed a federal crime, and you need to contact the IRS now to make it right. Or conversely, you could just apologize to jatki for being sanctimonious hypocrites.
If jatki really wanted to know the consequences of under age gambling so he could educate his son, he should have worded his question as such.

Must not be having that great of a time if you are in Vegas and are up at 5:00 am responding to posts from people on a message board.

Get off the f'ing web site and enjoy Vegas!
Ok, we get the fact that you don't "condone" underage gambling, but your defending posts while you are actually in Vegas are childish.
You have us all beat just by bring there right now.

Yeah! What Treegirl said...

What part of "it's illegal" do you not understand? Are you raising your son to believe that the laws do not apply to him?

He will be carded. He will be asked to move along. If he argues with security, or tries the lame excuse that his ID is in his room, police will be called.

The big question here is -- what the hell is wrong with you?

In these marvelous modern times it is OK to post to the forums and blogs while you are in Vegas.
A few trips back a guy at the BJ table would post "BJ" on his facebook page each time he got a black jack. After several postings one of his friends commented "Man, you must be spending a fortune on hookers out there."

How in the world did he get away with posting from the tables without the dealer saying anything to him. If I was dealing, I would have stopped him right away.

I see people texting while at the table quite often now. I have even done it myself and I don't consider myself much of a text communicator. Every once in a while I have seen a dealer say something like "no phones at the table" when it was interupting play. but for the most part it seems to be ignored if it is not obvious and disruptive.
The particular player posting to his FB page was a comedic genius and had the entire pit rolling with laughter. Everyone at the table was having a great time and play was not slowed down....too much. The I phone was a prop in the comedy.
