I am sure a lot of folks recall Mindbender, Buick Regal and Wbeen. In fact I think the first thread I posted in here ended up being a pissing match between Wbeen and myself. He thought I was one of Buick Regal's characters and went on the attack. The thread resulted in Wbeen being banned.

I'm talking about the Pre-Beem 'Golden Era' of the LVA. There was a time when there was virtually no animosity, a lot of Vegas Talk and no Politics in the FFA. It lasted at least a year. It was the time before the Party Bus. Remember the Party Bus? I imagine NavyMom, Kevzilla, Snidely (Frankie Rizzo III) and Julie G. do.

It was Buick Riviera, not Regal. Don't forget Darla and the pumpkin paint thread. John from Ohio, and some of the other crazies. ColtPacer, FunGirl, ...

I mentioned Colt & FunGirl & Sparkie. Darla/2hot2sey....sidingbum...2hot4u...Vegas Baby & BK420.

Lol my memory is failing.

That's the second thing to go.
lol - What is the first?

I have been running some experiments with my web traffic. I have been sending half of it to a message board and the other half to a WordPress based site. The WordPress site ends up churning out 4 times the page views with the same number of unique users. >> My conclusions: Users like the blog format better even though it offers less opportunity for interaction. I like the blog format better because it allows me to show the ads 4 times vs 1 time on the message board. The only drawback I see with the blog is it requires a more expensive set-up to run if you're going to spit out a lot of page views per-day.

Fun times. Sometimes I would come home at 11 p.m. or so on a Friday night and turn on the laptop to see what I had missed. Having more than 100 viewers on Friday nights was the norm. Lots of energy, lots of laughs.

And luvtogo, Grady, Blueboar, Disco Stu, BuffaloGirl, Shamu, Vegasbrit, chuckreis, Huddler (not Hustler), MissL777, KarenTN, Crokedrive, Sprunt, kydds, texascajun, Erinsd.

I've actually met about half of those folks in Las Vegas for fun and games.

I don't know how many of you here now read any of Huddler's trip reports, but after spending a night casino hopping with him, I can say he did not exaggerate in his trip reports. That guy is a real hoot, and he knows how to have fun in Las Vegas!
I miss fungirl, luvtogo, and redhotqueen.
Hmm, looks like I missed out on some lively discussions since most of usernames mentioned I don't recognize. I agree with those who said that that the name-calling, political pissing contests, and hater-thons seem to be an integral part of the LVA FFA forum even if it's more extreme now. The first thread I noticed when I began to read the message boards seriously was about one of Bagiant's more colorful sexcapades, and the extremely heated and often virulent exchanges that followed it went on for pages before the moderator finally locked the thread. As a new member, that long-running thread made me wonder what I was getting into.

That said, I enjoy reading the LVA message boards because the folks here have a lot to offer as far as their personal views. Yes, I could read Yelp for reviews, but those are reviews written by a bunch of anonymous strangers whose opinions may or may not be bogus to begin with. Here, I feel like I sort of know the posters with their variegated personalities so it's almost like listening to family and friends when they talk about their gambling stories. And the occasional sexcapade and political rant just makes the posters more human.
Some other names that I have often wondered where have they been;

Jenaphir
Noahcat
Marc & Misty
Suecasy
River Rat
Nesalk (the reverend)
Karicas
Monk
BanjoJerry (who doesn't remember him, LOL)
LettuceHead
ColonelVegas
Salukidean
KingBBinLV
makikiboy
HockeyDad
PokerWayne
CasinoBoss
LloydtheLover
MiniWhale
DrunkenHorseplayer
Zeemar

A lot of folks don't have the money to go to Vegas anymore. Makes it difficult to post a trip report. "The new normal" Cynicism has replaced optimism I'm afraid.
