what's your "hobbies" and how can you afford?

I started to try my hand at doing some painting. I've always watched The joy of painting whenever it happened to be on and always thought it pretty fascinating some guy could create something so cool in a half hour. Well, having so much time on my hands I figured what the heck(can't even draw a stick figure), I'll give it a try.I got online and ordered some of his instructional vids, and my wife got me an easel and a few other things at Christmas as well.

Let me tell you, it's wayyyyyy way harder than he makes it look on his shows.I'm still not sure if it's as relaxing as I thought it would be.TBD. I'm still in the "practicing" stage, mountains and waterfalls mainly and some look more like them and some don't, well don't mostly . I'd post some pics but with photobuckets trouble(mine actually), not even gonna try. Cost is negligible tho the paint is a lot more expensive than I thought it would be.

Art is just something that amazes me because I'm so bad at it. My artistic level is about equal to a 3 year old's.

Well, . . . snidely333, . . . the artist jes' needs to find his medium.

This here fella, . . . name of "Jackson Pollack", . . . started jes a-squeezin' paint outta a tube from atop a ladder and jes a-throwin' paint at a piece a' fibrebpard, . . . and viola, a masterpiece:

Now this fella was so lazy he didn't even name his pitchers, . . . like this one heh' is "No.1". And it done sold a few years back fer $140-million !

DonDiego jes' knows snidely333 can do it if he tries. Why, heckfire, . . . even if snidely333 gets only $140-thousand per pitcher, at least he be able to support his family.

The Jackson Pollack picture is upside down.

Well, . . . if'n DonDiego got the pitcher upside down, . . . it musta been the pollock in him.
And, . . . that's pr'bly also why his misspelled Mr. Pollock's name too. (What is RoadTrip's excuse?)

I was thinking the same thing. Goes to show you how lame I am at art stuff.

Truth be told, I won an art contest when I was a wee lad. My wife cannot believe the awesome art I created for one time in my life when I can't even draw a stick person very well.

Very similar - The world of Elvis bootlegs is incredible. When you find a recording of a concert you didn't have before it can be quite a find. Not to mention all of the volumes of "studio outtake" material that there is to purchase.

To date I've acquired about 100 unique recordings - so much more out there....
Gambling pretty well takes up my spare change.

HOBBIES ! SCHMOBBIES !

I am so jealous right now, Senor Diego - our central Texas tomato season has been horrendous this year. First it was a late freeze, then many unseasonably cold nights, now 100+ temperatures, all added to our continuing serious drought conditions. Only got a fraction of my usual harvest, no Cherokee Purples or Black Krim at all. Take good care of your babies.....
