I had a delightful conversation with a health Insurance company rep this morning

Here we go again. Liberals defending Obama's lies with sleight of hand. Nothing excuses blatent lies.

Shame that those old days never actually existed.
DonDiego suggests Chilcoot is intentionally misrepresenting the "old days" so as to make Obamacare look not quite so bad in comparison with the real "old days".

What people are missing is the "Good Old Days" when:
. . . if a person liked their healthcare plan they could keep their healthcare plan. PERIOD !
. . . if a person liked their doctor they could keep their doctor. PERIOD !

Somebody lied to them.

I miss the good ole days when private insurance companies never made changes to their network of doctors. Or when insurance companies never engaged in the practice of recission once their customers got sick.

Amusing how DonDiego accusses someone of lying in the same post where he makes false, outrageous claims.

Now I know why DonDiego likes the book 1984 so much. He enjoys rewriting history.

I didn't say Obama didn't lie. I believe it was called "lie of the year" by a prestigous news magazine.
But what do you say to people who lie in a post where they cry about liars?

There has never been any law that guarantees a consumer may unconditionally keep his/her doctor or healthcare plan. Ever. That has always been a decision made by insurance companies. That was true before Obamacare and that is true now.

It was a lie when Obama falsely said keeping your doctor/plan was an attribute of his healthcare system. And its every bit as big of a lie when DonDiego makes that claim about the system that preceded it.

Another problem has popped up

The American Medical Association, which originally supported the Affordable Care Act, warned the rule could pose a "significant financial risk" for doctors and hospitals, and on Wednesday blasted out guidelines to help members try and avoid those costs.

At issue is a 90-day "grace period" which lets patients who are not paying their premiums keep coverage for 90 days before it can be canceled.

Under the rule, insurers are responsible for paying any claims during the first month of that period -- but not necessarily for any claims during the final 60 days.

"Managing risk is typically a role for insurers, but the grace period rule transfers two-thirds of that risk from the insurers to physicians and health care providers," AMA President Ardis Dee Hoven said in a statement
This is terrible!

Before Obamacare, all medical bills were always paid immediately and in full without exception!

Just imagine how many patients will refuse to pay a $500 or $1000 premium so that they can enjoy getting socked with a $100,000+ bill from the doctors and hospitals!

This is going to happen so frequently! Everybody panic!

"One in five people who signed up for health insurance under the new health care law failed to pay their premiums on time and therefore did not receive coverage in January, insurance companies and industry experts say.
In view of the chaotic debut of the federal marketplace and many state exchanges, the White House urged insurers to give people more time, and many agreed to do so. But, insurers said, some people missed even the extended deadlines."

One needn't "imagine". The estimate is about 20%.

No one has estimated the figure of patients who will refuse to pay a $500 or $1000 premium so they can enjoy getting socked with a $100,000+ bill from the doctors and hospitals at 20%. Patients have been given a 90 day grace period to pay their premiums before their coverage may be cancelled.

Imagine this: Man signed up for health insurance on December 15. He's supposed to pay his monthly premium by January 1, but doesn't.

On January 15, he has a terrible heart attack and racks up $100,000 in bills. He still hasn't paid his premiums.

By March 30, he's going to pay his premiums, because if he doesn't, he's going to have to pay that huge doctor and hospital bill.

NO ONE will fail to pay that premium. Okay, maybe one guy, the kind who thought Michelle Bachmann would make a terrific president. All bets are off with that guy.

This isn't a real problem. The premium will be paid, the insurance will kick in, and the doctors and hospitals will be off the hook.

Is it any wonder why the lying president, who ONLY wanted this stupid law passed so minorities in the cities could get healthcare for free, kept this fact from everyone until recently?

It'll be one great bog hoot reading about the legacy of Obama in 20 years. The black president experience turned out to be a huge failure. What a hoax....what a great big waste of everybody's time.

PJ, if you're responding to my post please note that I never argued that you told us that Obama didn't lie. I complained that you appear to justify his lies.

I've always known that Obamacare was another wealth redistribution program. Until recently, I've not found a single Liberal who agreed with my position and they ALL argued that the insurance freeloaders would be subsidized via the savings that the brilliant Obama and his friends generate.

Wealth again is transferred from those who work for a living to those who vote for a living.

Boilerman, if you have even trace amounts of integrity, you'll apologize for spreading lies like the one below.
