Street "Performers" and Water "Sellers"

They'll be targeting to get rid of the punks. You know it, I know it, the business owners know it, and the punks know it.

Sensible conclusions don't suppress Freedom of Speech. Logical people don't trash the constitution because it's convenient or it makes them comfortable. The Management of The Fremont Casino shouldn't be able to kick people off of Fremont Street because he doesn't like how they look or what they say.

And to your comment that police can't target certain folks to toss off of Fremont

Actually what I said was they can't toss them off the street because "they don't like them or what they say or how they dress". That's the way it is in a Free Country. What happened to clean up East Fremont is they outlawed people drinking on the street outside the canopy. If you do that you'll be arrested too. It has nothing to do with the 'creepy' street performers you fear so much....The ones you can't really identify but sensible people can.

And to your comment that police can't target certain folks to toss off of Fremont, they were doing it as recently as last year during my most recent trips. The East Fremont neighborhood is building up with new bars and restaurants. Young people, a bunch of whom are punks, have decided to frequent this area. They buy nothing and cause trouble. Some tend to hang in packs and scare people (yes, simply by their looks, body language, and numbers). The businesses in the neighborhood complained and the police began to target and boot the kids. Policed wouldn't admit to targeting, but they were targeting. Last year I could walk down the street (drink in hand) with five of my 54 year old buddies, and cops wouldn't bother us. A pack of young punks who do the same, and never enter enter a business were getting tossed. Like magic, the problem was solved and the business owners and paying patrons were pleased. Happy days.

My gosh you sound like a sheltered little princess that mommy and daddy tried their best to protect from all the negativity in the world.
Seriously, perhaps Vegas is just a bit too real for you.
Maybe you should stick to cruises...I hear you can spot the creepers by their fake tans and gold chains.
NICE !!
I've stayed downtown about 15 of my past 20 Vegas trips. Certain people are driving away business by the actions (or lack of actions like showering). Business owners do have certain rights, and that includes stopping this infringement on their business.

You believe business owners have few if any rights, and I disagree.

I need to correct an earlier post of mine. I said they outlawed all open containers on Fremont Street East. It turns out, the Police only thought they outlawed all open containers. Only certain containers were actually outlawed.

Final result: Over 1300 citations thrown out. Hundreds...if not thousands of man hours wasted. Upset tourists and business owners. That's exactly what will happen if they start selectively arresting the scary Street Performers that Boiley fears so much. One big cluster fuck of constitutional infringement, tossed citations and apologies.

I do wonder why the "Street Performers" are not "creepy" when you go to Disney Land or Disney World.

You're trying to create a strawman. No one said business owners don't have rights. What was said is that the public's right to freedom of expression cannot be curtailed because a business owner or some dude on the Internet finds them to be creepy. The business owner's rights stop where the creepy dude on the sidewalk's rights start.
Rock'n Rick- In answer to your question- it could be that the "Street Performers" are employed by Disney Land and Disney World. I am sure that there are dress/costume codes that the performers must abide by. I also believe that these "Performers" do not expect "donations" and are paid for their services. They also pay their fair share of taxes and social security.
You missed my earlier link. The "fine tuned and reworked law" is expected approved this week. The judge said that the past law was "too broad".

One thought is personal hygiene. If you confuse Disney performers with Fremont performers, you need to have your sense of sight and smell tested. You're argument is that they are the same...........they're not. You don't care about infringing on the rights of business, but I believe that need to also be protected. You don't care.
